Hello, darlings! Being the muse of Ari Seth Cohen has brought forth so many wonderful opportunities – from being a part of his best-selling book, Advanced Style, to meeting plenty of great people  who have seen me on his blog.  Nevertheless, it was such a pleasure to hear that I was in this month’s issue of Marie Claire Italy as one of the fashionable femmes. Even better, I was featured alongside my good friend, Tziporah Salamon – a fantastic honor, considering that she is one of the chicest women that I know.  Yet, most of all, I am thrilled that Ari has successfully spread the message worldwide that having sensational style isn’t defined by age.  After all, I’ve always believed that every woman owes it to herself to dress for the theatre of her life – a theatre that will garner plenty of admirers.

Lynn Dell Celebrates Advanced Style at The Club at Briarcliff Manor

Hello, everyone!  This past Tuesday, we were privileged to be a part of our good friend, Ari Seth Cohen’s, latest signing party for his best-selling book, Advanced Style.  A beautiful and perfect day to travel to the country, I, along with Off Broadway Boutique superstars, Pat and Brianna, were over the moon with excitement for the special event at The Club at Briarcliff Manor.  I stepped out in a gorgeous cream outfit with a delightful It’s a Rae Rae hat with caramel colored features as I beamed with excitement.  Pat was equally in her glamorous element in a sharp black and white peplum jacket that was complemented by her trademark red lips.  Brianna rounded out the threesome with a whimsically stylish hat that captured the spirit of the fashionable event.

A luxury van arrived to pick us up as we were introduced to some of the other fabulous women that were featured in the pages of Advanced Style.  The theme of the charming and incredibly colorful conversation was gratitude for their personal style being appreciated by all walks of life.  Through warm laughter and heartfelt chats, every woman in the van expressed just how much they enjoyed the newfound visibility by reclaiming their right to their personal style and their own lives.  As we arrived at The Club at Briarcliff Manor, we were greeted by the lovely Sherry.  After enjoying a delicious lunch, Pat, Brianna, and I met with Ari, who looked quite sharp in a shocking pink blazer.  The man of the hour had already arrived to ensure that everything was in tip top shape for what was sure to be a successful fête. 

 

This book signing party certainly lived up to our expectations as we enjoyed the company of the fashionable ladies who stopped by our set-up to see our chic Off Broadway Boutique merchandise.  While I made it my business to interact with everyone by the booth and the enthusiastic crowd at the main house, Pat won everyone over with her effortless class and charisma.  Afterwards, we were treated to a preview of the Advanced Style documentary that was helmed by the fantastic videographer, Lina Plioplyte.  It earned unanimous raves as everyone clapped and cheered wildly, confirming that both Ari Seth Cohen and the esteemed group of fashionable women were a huge hit. Needless to say, our afternoon truly epitomized what the great Audrey Hepburn once said – the most beautiful women are the happiest.  Being surrounded by undeniably stylish women showcased that there was plenty to be happy about that day.

 

After toasting the documentary preview, we were disappointed to see that our time at The Club at Briarcliff Manor had come to an end.  Gearing up to return to the city that we loved so much, we said our goodbyes as we bid the country adieu.  Although we were rather exhausted at the end of the day, we were pleased that we found so much inspiration in the fashionable women that Ari featured in Advanced Style.   Suffice to say, our wonderful afternoon provided new meaning to the saying – I can’t wait until I grow up.

Moroccan Style Thrives at Off Broadway Boutique

Hello, everyone!  We pride ourselves in providing fabulous fashion for women over 50, which has inspired Off Broadway Boutique’s latest store window display’s theme of Moroccan style!  To celebrate the summer season, we wanted to capture its effervescence through our Moroccan fashion collection!

Designed in a one size fits most silhouette, every clothing piece in our window is made with soft and breathable Moroccan cotton that feels divine.  Hand-dyed in vibrant colors such as white and tangerine, they are a chic fashion choice for the woman that loves to look great while feeling comfortable.  I can certainly attest to this, as I own a wonderful Moroccan cotton pantsuit that flatters me just as well as it did when I got it five years ago.

Hello, darlings!  A few weeks ago, CNN.com was lovely enough to cover me in their wonderful article, “Aging stylishly, online and in the streets” as a woman of a certain age with fabulous style.  In addition to featuring my shop, Off Broadway Boutique, my lovely salesperson, Brianna, chimed in about her admiration of my bold and beautiful sense of style.

Hello, everyone!  It’s been a busy week for yours truly, as I’ve been traveling to trade shows around town in pursuit of the perfect pieces for Off Broadway Boutique.  Among the shows that I attended were the ENK show at Pier 94, the Atelier show at the Doubletree Hotel, and the Accessories, Moda, and Fame shows at the Jacob Javits Center.  Each and every show offers me the promise of finding that special piece that will become a beloved must-have in my shop.

 

A big winner at Pier 94’s trade shows was the statement jewelry that caught my eye and captured my heart.  Since I am always on the lookout for stunning and unique statement jewelry pieces, I was thrilled to find a new collection of gold tone played jewelry.  Each piece was simple in design and beautiful in quality, while the collars and breastplates were the centerpieces of the collection.  In addition, the Atelier show at the Doubletree Hotel hosted a great trade show from a firm named Dressed to Kill, which offered a few wonderful and special pieces that I will definitely sell in my store.  A bonus was the free bags of jellybeans that they were offering around the trade shows.

 

When I arrived at the Jacob Javits Center trade shows, I immediately fell for a glamorous glass bead jewelry collection that included stunning neckpieces.  So smitten was I  with the gorgeous green and beautiful blue colors that I had earrings custom made from beads and stones that I handpicked, even though I normally shy away from buying matching jewelry.  Since exquisite earrings were already on my mind, I made it a point to search for clip back earrings that were as bold as they were luxurious.  After all, I pride myself in offering an array of one of a kind clip back earrings that fashionable women over 50 can embrace at Off Broadway Boutique.  The pieces that I found at the Jacob Javits trade shows were beautiful ones that will certainly win the hearts of my customers.

 

I was also inspired to buy sexy shoes for my customers to wear along with the evening clothes that they try on in the dressing rooms of my shop.  Although we haven’t done this in years, I thought it was a great idea to start it back up again so that women can truly see how sexy their legs look in a gown and gorgeous shoes.  I chose these shoes in complementary colors – gold, black, and silver – so that they can get the full picture of how glamorous they can look in exquisite style.  If this turns out to be a success, I may decide to offer these shoes for purchase in the future.

Coming Soon: Ari Seth Cohen’s Advanced Style Book

Hello, everyone! Being a longtime friend and friend of Advanced Style’s Ari Seth Cohen, we were thrilled to hear that he would be releasing a book that was based on his blog – so much so that we just had to get our hands on an advance copy. Needless to say, it is a wonderful book that features some of the most gorgeous images of fashionable women over 50. Ari did such a fabulous job in capturing the essence of these over 50 women that we predict that this book will be a runaway bestseller!

Thanks to all our loyal customers and viewers who enjoyed watching the Chef Roblé and Co. show on Sunday and loved what I was wearing!  By popular request, we put together some photos, captures, and video clips – including some from the show - of the outfits that I wore to my 60th anniversary celebration, as well as some information of how to get these fabulous looks!

When the main course was served, I changed into another fashionable stunner, the silk charmeuse jumpsuit in an exquisite bright red color. Lynn Dell Revives Her Fabulous Talk Show

Hello, everyone! Just in time for the holidays, Lynn Dell is reviving her acclaimed talk show, Positively Lynn, for everyone to enjoy!  Originally airing on public television in the 90s, she hosted this fun and fabulous gabfest as a way to let women viewers in on her fashionable and exciting world.  Whether this resulted in entertaining interviews with intriguing guests or glamorous fashion shows that showcased stunning style for women over 50, audiences were treated to a bird’s eye view of luxury.

 

Starting on Tuesday, December 20th, you will be able to relive some of Lynn’s most exciting moments when Positively Lynn airs again on New York local station, Manhattan Neighborhood Network.  Every Tuesday morning at 8:30AM, viewers will join Lynn as she travels to destinations that vary from our very own Off Broadway Boutique to her then-home in the Hamptons, as well as exciting destinations such as the The Legendary Tavern on the Green, The original Plaza Hotel, Four Seasons, Florida, and Morocco.

Lynn Dell Makes a Splash on Chef Roble & Co.

Hello, everyone!   Do you remember when I hinted that our Countess of Glamour would be seen in a whole new light?  Perhaps, you’ve already read my article on our good friend, Chef Roblé Ali, unveiling his reality show.  Well, it’s all come together because I will be making my star-studded debut on the Bravo network’s Chef Roblé & Co next month!


I was blessed to have Chef Roblé cater my 60th wedding anniversary to my beloved husband, Sandy Cohen, and am over the moon that we will be sharing this special moment on television.  The episode officially airs on January 15th at 10PM (EST), so stay tuned for heartwarming moments served up with Chef Roblé’s delicious cuisine.

Chef Roble & Co. – Debuting Next Month with Lynn Dell

 

 

Hello, everyone!  In less than a month, the Bravo network will debut what is sure to be its newest hit, Chef Roble & Co.  The show will chronicle our good friend, Chef Roblé Ali, as he launches his high-end catering company in New York City.

 

Known as the “Hip Hop Chef”, Roblé’s food has garnered rave reviews from prominent people such as former President Bill Clinton, Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCaprio, and our favorite fashionable woman over 50, Lynn Dell – who will be featured in an upcoming segment.  So, tune in on Sunday, December 4th at 10PM on the Bravo network for the premiere of the fabulous Chef Roble & Co.

Lynn Dell Takes On the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show

Hello, darlings!  As a woman over 50 who is a vintage style aficionado, I was thrilled to be invited to one of the top fashion events of the year – the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show.  Taking place this past Friday, I had wonderful fun hobnobbing with the fabulous fashionistas while having my photo taken by many high-profile photographers and bloggers. 

 

 

Being surrounded by such high-profile people as Ari Seth Cohen of Advanced Style and Bill Cunningham of The New York Times, while being chronicled by AOL, was as thrilling as New York Fashion Week.  Needless to say, the process of attending this show is more exciting than the show itself.

 

 

The best part about this magical night was being complimented on my red vintage felt hat – a hat that I knew would be just right for this occasion from the first time that I laid eyes on it in the vintage reruns department of my boutique.  Pairing it with my red suede boots and marvelous black cape completed my style for a woman over 50.

Hello, ladies!  Lynn Dell has prided herself on being The Countess of Glamour for years, which is why it was no surprise to see her featured on the fabulous Jezebel this past Thursday.  Showing off her unique brand of fashion for women over 50, she wore a posh patent leather oversized beret that captured her personality perfectly.
