Hello, everyone! This past Friday, I had the pleasure of hosting the very talented filmmaker, Lina Plioplyte, in my apartment. In town to film a segment for the upcoming documentary, Advanced Style, she had wanted viewers to see me behind the glamour. Having already filmed with her at my shop, Off Broadway Boutique, I thought that my residence was the ideal place to show this part in this film.

While Ari Seth Cohen’s best-selling book, Advanced Style, did a marvelous job in portraying me on my public stage that is New York City, I had always longed to showcase my intimate side. In accepting Lina’s offer, I invited her into my home so that she could see me thrive in the wonderful life and love that I have shared with my beloved Sandy Cohen for 61 years. As I showed Lina our wedding photos, she remarked that the very joie-de-vivre spirit and fabulous style shown on that day was very much present at this moment.

As she was filming me cooking in the kitchen, Lina decided to interview Sandy. As she asked him questions, his caretaker, Moody, decided that Sandy was not and should not look less than his best on film. With a pair of shears, she cleaned his face and made sure that he was camera-ready to continue his interview. Camera-ready and ready to roll, Sandy embarked on a fun interview that wound up being an exciting day in reminiscing about our journey – a journey that I look forward in sharing with the entire world on film.
